Ghana: TECHNOLOGIES FOR AFRICAN AGRICULTURAL TRANSFORMATION (TAAT) ORANGE FLESH SWEET POTATO COMPACT

This request for expression of interest follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared on the African Development Bank Group’s Internet Website(www.afdb.org) 16th August 2018

International Potato Centre (CIP) is implementing the Orange Flesh Sweet Potato (OFSP) Compact, financed through a grant from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the Technologies for African Agricultural Transformation (TAAT) Program and intends to apply part of the proceeds for this grant to facilitate payment for a consultant- Orange Flesh Sweet Potato (OFSP) Compact Coordinator

The Consultant is expected to lead the Community Technology Delivery Compact (CTDC) of Orange Fleshed Sweet Potato and the development of all the necessary submissions for approval by the clearing house; Oversee day-to-day management and implementation of value chain compact activities

in close collaboration with country value chain implementation teams; Facilitate the implementation of value chain activities in all target countries and participate in the monitoring of progress made towards achieving value chain and TAAT set goals; Provide support to all value chain public and private sector partners in each participating country.

The desired consultant should possess an advance degree in any of Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Marketing, Business Administration, Food Technology, Agricultural Extension or a closely related field to value chain with a minimum of 10 years of professional work experience with at least two (2) years of experience with sweetpotato value chain (vine multiplication, production, storage and processing); Relevant work experience in project management especially with projects that link farmers to the market will be added advantage; Experience in leading projects that are involved in public-private partnership.

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Bank’s October 2015 edition of the Bank’s Procurement Policy framework*[1].***The assignment is for a duration of fifteen (15) months and is expected to start on 1st February 2020.
